On April 7, 2023, after almost 16 years, Sankofa “Goldie Jackson” McNeal transitioned to her final resting place back with her creator. Sankofa moved to Georgia from Texas in 2009. The word "Sankofa" means go back and bring forth the good things. The Sankofa symbol is a bird looking backwards while flying forward.
