Abby, a rescued Dachshund - Jack Russell mix, traveled across country on a rescue transport to live with me. I loved her from the first moment I saw her. Her personality was sunny, gentle, and bright. She loved everyone she ever met - people, dogs, cats, and even a neighbor child's pet bunny rabbit. She was my companion and my comfort during good times and bad. She loved lap sitting, snuggling up for a nap, and treats! She would twirl in excited circles when she was excited. She had a sweet little smile that she often shared. I will love her and miss her always.

Words cannot express the sorrow I felt when I learned my friend Trish lost dear sweet Abby. I wept when I heard the news as I myself have owned a dog since I was 15 and I'm nearly 49 and until you are blessed with the presence of one you will never know the joy and the unconditional love they show daily. Abby is no longer in any pain and having a wonderful time smiling down from the rainbow bridge.
