L🐶ve is definitely a four-legged word and, the spelling of “joy” has been changed to “ACE”. I was blessed with 14 years and 9 months of the best four-legged friend in the world.

Ace has certainly been present for every material transition of my adult life, to date. He saw me through:

✨the brightest of smiles, ✨the challenge of long hours as I studied and perfected my craft, ✨the transitions of home and my career, ✨the pregnancy, birth and rearing of LL, ✨the tears of defeat and triumph of success, and, ✨the rebirth and blooming of who I am today.

His entrance into my life expanded my heart, comforted my soul and brought so much love and humor to my day. He was my alarm clock and my reminder that life consisted of long walks, chewed up shoes, wet kisses, puppy dog eyes and belly rubs 😊😊

He was definitely my guard in the true essence of the word. In all honesty, he was one of the realest members on my team.

Although it’s hard to see beyond the sorrow this transition brings, I’m looking back, in memory, and feel my eyes squinting and the corners of my lips widening into a smile that only Ace could bring.

Ace, my lion-heart, my guard, my first baby, I love you. Your paw-prints are imprinted on my heart forever 🐾
