Bailee Marie (also known as Mama, Poot, Pumpkin, or Pig), age 14, crossed the rainbow bridge on October 19, 2020 due to complications of a brain tumor.

Although born in Michigan, she spent most of her life as a southern belle with the Couey family. Her favorite things included getting belly rubs, sitting in the sun, eating doggie treats and McD chicken nuggets, taking naps, and cuddling. She didn’t care much for other dogs or children, but she wanted to befriend and be held by almost every adult human she ever met.

Holidays were exciting because she loved opening presents, regardless of whether they were hers or someone else’s. Her short tail wagged constantly, she grunted like a pig, and she perfected a pitiful whine for whenever someone stopped petting her. She demanded much love, and she loved just as generously in return.

Bailee was predeceased by her house human father Steve, whom she missed terribly, and by her canine siblings Ace, Roo, and Diesel. She is survived by her human siblings Kelli and Blake and by her devoted human mother Vanessa, who spoiled her rotten and cared for her until the very end.
