Obituary For Bella Barr

Bella, our loyal and loving girl, crossed the rainbow bridge after 14 years as part of our family. Part Basset Hound, part Jack Russell Terrier, and all heart, Bella was a one-of-a-kind dog who brought us so much joy and love than we ever thought possible.

Bella enjoyed chasing squirrels, dismembering her toys to remove squeakers (only the Kong survived). She claimed the console for car rides, so she could see out the front window. She also enjoyed boat rides and long walks. She had a big personality in a little body, and she made sure her presence was always known.

Bella loved salami and bacon. She could hear a salami wrapper from a mile away! She liked taking lazy naps with her people. She loved long walks, sun spots by the window and in the yard, but most of all—she loved her people. She greeted us with the same excited tail wag whether we had been gone for ten hours or ten minutes. Her loyalty never wavered.

She helped her brothers through the highs and lows of middle, high school, and the young adult years, sitting quietly beside them when they needed support, offering comfort without ever needing to be asked. She had a way of knowing when someone was sad and always responded with empathy—pressing her head against your chest, reminding you that you weren’t alone.

Bella was more than just a dog. She was a secret keeper, and a ray of sunshine in hard times. She gave her whole self to us every day, unconditionally, and expected nothing in return but love—and maybe a few treats!

She taught us about loyalty, joy, patience, and the power of unconditional love. We will miss her greeting us when we return home, her snuggles, her curious nose poking into everything, and the warmth she brought into every inch of our home.

Thank you, Bella, for everything. You left an imprint on our hearts! #bestdogever #neverbeanotherdoglikeyou
