Blackie was an amazing black lab and border collie. His first owner before us I'm sure was an amazing women, she took great care of him for his first 6 years, sadly she passed away. Blackie had ended up In a shelter from the ages of 6 to 8 and a half. My fiance and were looking for a new furbaby for ourselves. We weren't wanting a new puppy but to help an older dog that had been in a shelter for a while. After 5 minutes of meeting Blackie we knew he was the one for us. We took him home immediately. His first week was a big adjustment for him as it seemed the shelter was a bit traumatic for him. My fiance and I slept on the floor with him during his first week because he was very unsettled. He shortly grew to love us. He had some behavior work to be done, after a few months he was a new dog. He loved going on car rides and listening to rascal flatts that would end with pup cups. My fiance and I loved taking him on day trips to the mountains which he loved very much. He protected and loved us to the very end. We didnt rescue him, he rescued us. We hope you fly high Blackie, forever in our hearts.
