Obituary For Buster Pegram
Buster Thomas Pegram, IV "BooBa" was a cherished 16-year-old Yorkshire Terrier
rescue born on May 23, 2009 journey began in central Ohio and led him, by way of Richmond, Virginia, to the loving arms of his forever family. After traveling alone and being discovered by truck drivers along the way, Buster was adopted in Richmond, VA, on April 24, 2014.
From the moment he entered his mother, Gee’s life, Buster became far more than a pet. He was her constant companion, her heart, and her greatest source of joy. His presence filled every space with warmth, comfort, and unconditional love. Wherever Buster went, people were always amazed by his youthful spirit, his boundless energy, and his friendliness, which made it hard to believe his age.
Small in size but immense in spirit, Buster possessed a gentle soul and a quiet strength that touched everyone he met. He carried himself with dignity, curiosity, and a sweetness that never faded with time. Whether curled up nearby, following his mother from room to room, or resting peacefully, he had a remarkable way of making everything feel safe and whole.
With patience, dedication, and training, Buster became trilingual, responding to commands in English, German, and Spanish. He especially loved playing in the snow and rain, running freely through open fields and meadows, and hiking, always embracing the outdoors with joy and enthusiasm.
Buster taught so many what true love looks like: steadfast, loyal, and pure. He was resilient, affectionate, and endlessly special. His eyes reflected wisdom, kindness, and trust, and his love is something Gee, his extended family, and friends will carry with them forever.
Though the time shared will never feel like enough, his family and friends are profoundly grateful for every moment. Buster leaves behind a legacy of love, devotion, and quiet bravery. He is survived by his mother, Germika “Gee” Pegram (Atlanta, GA); his grandmother, Shirley T. Pegram (Richmond, VA); a host of beloved dog friends in Atlanta, GA, Buckhead community, and Midtown dog park, Atlanta, GA; and family and friends along the entire East Coast (RI, CT, NYC/NY, NJ, PA, Washington, DC, Alexandria, Richmond, VA, Cumberland, Co., VA, Norfolk, VA, Hampton, VA, VA Beach, VA, Charolotte, NC, South Carolina, FL), the midwest (Illionis, Wisconsin, and Kansas), Pasadena, CA, Los Angeles, CA, as well as in the Dominican Republic, Cuba, UK-England, Ireland, and several areas throughout West Germany.
Buster will always be remembered as the sweetest boy, and he will forever hold a piece of Gee’s soul, and many people's hearts and thoughts.
Run free, Buster. You were deeply loved, and you always will be.
