Memorial Tribute for Freyja Rodkey

“Tiny legs, big heart” describes Freyja in four words. She was loving and social, bounding up to anyone who walked into her home—usually to demand being petted. From the moment we saw her, and Kevin held her in his hands, she made her enthusiastic personality and joy known. Freyja had an endless curiosity about the world. She watched the world with inquisitiveness and delight—from “guarding” us from the squirrels and birds to “supervising” the Chick-Fil-A drive-through outside our apartment window. She shared her love with her family every day, wedging herself into spaces next to her sister where she didn’t really fit, taking up a disproportionate amount of the bed to sleep next to her humans, and waiting outside the shower for Kevin in the mornings to start their day together. Her life ended much too soon, but she fought fiercely through her last year with all the brightness and love that characterized her life. She leaves behind her sister, Lorna, and her humans, Max and Kevin. We love and miss her dearly.

    I am so sorry for your loss of Freyja. She was always so friendly and loving to everyone who met her. She will be greatly missed but will always be in our hearts. She meant so much not only to Kevin and Max, but also Lorna. I love you all, mom

So sorry for your loss of Freyja. Thank you so much for sharing some of her story. I can see she meant the world to you and had a tremendous impact on your life. And what a beautiful girl 😊. Our pets bring so much unconditional love and joy to our lives. They truly are family members who we create and share memories with. Keep those with you and she will live on in your heart forever. RIP Freyja.
