Obituary For Ivy Lindsey

“To everything there is a season, A time for every purpose under heaven. A time to be born, and a time to die.” Ecclesiastes 3:1-2a

My heart is broken and it is with deep sadness that I announce the passing of my beloved Ivy “babygirl” Lindsey.😢💔

“The LORD is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.” Psalm 34:18

It will take time to heal, and for the uneasiness of the silence to go away. I remember the day that Ivy flew from NOLA and arrived in my home at 6 weeks old. She’s been my roommate, and constant companion for 14 years. It’s just been the two of us!

Though Ivy was the runt of the litter, she had a big heart, big bark, and big personality. She had a sweet spirit, and a loving disposition. She no longer greets me, as I walk through the house, approach the steps, and finally enter our bedroom. I’m flooded with many precious memories. Life seems too quiet without her. Ivy was far more than a pet, she was my fur baby and family!

Ivy was great company: traveling buddies in the car, taking long walks in the park, and in the yard while I planted flowers. People were amazed by her stroller, car seat, cot, tent, princess bed, toy box (full of toys), clothes, and hair bows. Ivy loved chicken and rice (which I prepared often). Yes, she was spoiled!

Ivy was tiny in size for a ShihTzu, but a fearless giant when anyone approached. She protected me with a fierce passion. People quickly discovered that she was all bark! They were immediately melted by her loving spirit, gentleness, and friendliness.

My heart will forever hold dear her pawprints left behind. I will meet you across the Rainbow Bridge!🌈

    The loss of a puppy baby and companion creates a different kind of pain and sadness. Our dogs are who we begin to rely on instinctively for their physical presence and emotional support. I am sorry for the hole this loss has created. I pray Ivy peace in her body from all that ailed her, a renewed spirit, and reconnection with her sister CoCo Chanel on the other side of that Rainbow Bridge. I pray peace fills your heart and ease calms your mind Ma. Your life was lived to the fullest of your ability, rest well now Ivy, Job well done.
