Obituary For Jack Rodriguez

17-years ago, I walked into a pet store looking for a puppy. I saw this little pup sitting alone in a corner like a discarded toy that no one wanted. I knew without thinking that’s the one I wanted to take home. They told me that he was a rescue from an abusive home and it would take some time to get him to feel confident and comfortable in the house. It was a lot of work, but in 3-months he made the house his place and my heart his home. A few years later he gave me his blessing to have Lindsey be his Mom and Jax (her cat) his brother.

Last year Jack was diagnosed with Lung and Foot Cancer. We didn’t think he was going to make it through the holidays or Jose’s birthday in January, but he is a stubborn little boy that made it a point to make sure to give us one last holiday season and celebrate with us. Jack passed away at home with both of us peacefully. He left with a piece of our hearts.

We’ll miss his Dobby ears, wet nose, tippy taps, old man grumbles, paw control, walks in the park, stops for puppuccinos. The past 17-years were full of love, cuddles, playtime, road trips and new adventures.

This empty void will be filled with all those memories and the unconditional love he gave us. Jack, forever our puppy.

Hi...you don't know me but I do subscribe to the obituaries here to see the stories people share about their pets who have crossed over Rainbow Bridge (https://www.rainbowsbridge.com/Poem.htm). So sorry for your loss of Jack. Thank you so much for sharing his story. I can see he meant the world to you and had a tremendous impact on your family 😊. What a brave little guy to go what he went through. Our pets do bring so much unconditional love and joy to our lives. They truly are family members who we create and share memories with. I know you will keep those with you and he will live on in your heart forever. RIP Jack.
