Janie left her family and friends on August 20, 2022 from complications due to cancer. The short 10 years of this wonderful Golden Retriever’s life were filled with fun and laughter by those fortunate enough to know her. Initially Janie was supposed to be a boy. Ten years ago, Jobi decided he wanted a male dog. He drove 2 hours to a pet farm to select his future four-legged best friend but he couldn’t find the male dog he wanted. Instead, a youthful, female Golden Retriever named Janie caught his eye. The decision to pick her was an easy one, even though she was so dirty from playing in the mud that afternoon. Sometimes the outside doesn’t look good but you can find a heart of gold on the inside. Janie was spoiled with numerous toys but her favorites were lamb lamb and squeaky blue balls. She enjoyed taking long naps on her plush doggy bed whenever she wasn’t playing or barking at the UPS driver, secretly hoping he was bringing her a new toy. Car rides were her favorite, especially when the window was down and she could stick her head out. Meeting new humans was another favorite activity she enjoyed, by simply asking them to pet her without jumping on them or barking. She was given a bath every week, teeth brushed daily, and received plenty of loved from her friends. Her love was gentle and quiet, but it was most certainly felt. Janie’s time on Earth was simply too short. She will be sorely missed and loved forever.
