Little Bit came to the Atkin family 5 years ago. She was around 5 years old when we adopted her. Cousin Chelsea had a customer who gave Little Bit to her, Little Bit then lived with Poppy for about a year and finally made her way to our home where she lived out the rest of her life. Little Bit was a black and white long haired chihuahua mix. She had a very loving and giving spirit. She seemed to understand when you spoke to her. She had a joyous attitude toward everyone and waited patiently for us to come home each time we left even if only for a few minutes. She was always happy and gave to others even when she was older, sick and did not feel good. Even in her physical pain and difficulty in breathing she was never cantankerous but always happy and welcoming to us and others.

She minded well, was loyal and protective of her family, did not destroy things and was a fantastic pet. She accompanied us on many family trips including her last one just weeks before she left this earth, when we drove to grandma's house and then on a tour of the west. She loved going "bye bye" in the car to anywhere but especially through drive through restaurants with dad to receive treats, ice cream, etc. When Lauren moved to college, Little Bit made several trips to visit her on campus always hating the goodbyes but loving the hellos when Lauren returned home for the weekend. She loved sleeping in Tim's and Lauren's rooms at night and taking walks with mom & Lauren through parks and the neighborhood.

Little Bit had a heart murmur when we adopted her which worsened over the years. In her last days she developed pulmonary hyper tension, a collapsed trachea and congestive heart failure. She left us on Saturday, July 10, 2021 around 10:00pm. She was calm and very peaceful. She is now with her maker and with her Poppy again in heaven. Rest in peace Little Bit. You were, are, will always be loved and missed. Thank you for bringing so much joy to our family.
