Obituary For Mazie Meow Flores

My sweet Mazie Meow Flores passed away peacefully this afternoon. I wish, in some way, that I could say it was a surprise but I called and scheduled the appointment. At 19 years old Mazie girl was living with crohns, diabetes, and as of December 2024, cancer. The right thing to do was also one of the hardest things to do.

My parents sold our family home in 2018 and it’s since been renovated. A charming 1925 bungalow has had the crown molding, tile, and clawfoot tub removed. We said they’d taken away the soul of the house. Today part of my soul was taken away.

Mazie and I have been together since I was 21 years old. She lived with me in Tallahassee, Gainesville, Tampa, and Decatur. She was there for every transition, every hard day, and every celebration. A lover of food, she happily enjoyed treats even in her final moments.

Mazie is survived by her sister, Luna (age 10) and mommy, NM (age 34). In lieu of flowers please send manifestations and cold hard cash.

So sorry for your loss of Mazie. Thank you so much for sharing some of her awesome story! I can see she meant the world to you and had a tremendous impact on your life. And what an awesome pic 😊. Our pets bring so much unconditional love and joy to our lives. They truly are family members who we create and share memories with. Keep those with you and she will live on in your heart forever. RIP Mazie.
