Obituary For Nigel Valentino Sebek

Nigel Valentino was a special kitten that was part of our family for only 2 months. We adopted him from CoCo's Cupboard on Valentine's Day. We had visited the rescue a week earlier to meet with a different cat, but that kitten didn't seem interested in us. That was when we heard Nigel crying behind a closed door. We were told that he was a runt and that they were trying to stabilize his digestion. Once they opened the door, Nigel came sprinting out and immediately started climbing up Agnes. Once he made it to her shoulder he started purring and snuggling into her neck. He then climbed onto Ross' shoulder and told them both how he was supposed to go home with them.

A week later he was cleared for adoption and this little love bug became part of the family on February 14th, Valentine's Day.

We usually separate new animals while the adjust to their new home, but Nigel didn't have a long time alone in isolation. Finnian wanted to play with his new brother so badly that he figured out how to open the door and he invaded the isolation area. The two of them had an instant bond.

Finnian and Nigel were immediately best friends. They chased, groomed and explored the house together. They snuggled in the window seat and truly enjoyed each other's company.

Nigel also liked to snuggle with his people. While he didn't mind sitting in laps, he preferred to hug onto your shoulder and even climb into your coat or vest. He would even slip under the covers when we were sleeping and we had to be careful not to roll when he was there.

Nigel loved everyone and everyone loved Nigel. He had a short life and was taken too soon by FIP. He had started treatment, but his health never improved. In his brief life he touched everyone's heart, from his family to visitors and the Vets.

Forever we will remember our time with him and appreciate the love and laughter that he brought into our lives. He has crossed the Rainbow Bridge too soon, but we will endlessly feel his love in our hearts.
