Obituaries

Twelve years ago, twelve-week-old Oliver C. Brantley was left by the Kitty Fairy in our backyard, and quickly adopted by eight-year-old Emma Brantley. He was so bonded to his "Little Girl" that when she left for college nine years later, he roamed the house at night crying and carrying around her stuffed Peep. (He had to wear a "soothing collar" to calm him down.) When his much older siblings passed away, Emma was so worried about his loneliness as the now only cat, she went to the shelter and adopted two kittens for him. (He did perk up and loved Stanley and Lucy very much.) Emma and Oliver loved each other dearly, and in his last minutes, as we held him in our arms while he crossed the Rainbow Bridge, his last thoughts were surely of her. He was a good boi, a good kitty, and now he is free of pain, running in the grass, and chasing lots of chipmunks. We love you Oliver, and we and your kittens miss you so much.
