Obituary For Peanut Davis

Peanut was a sweet playful courageous little Shorkie. She brought so much love, play and joy to our lives and will be missed dearly. Always the willing hiker, one of her great feats was hiking with us to the top of Crowder Mountain. A steep and rocky climb, she made it all the way to the top without being carried and together we enjoyed a picnic lunch and a majestic view of NC.

In December 2020, she blew out her cruciate ligament and we thought she would never walk again. She was too old for surgery and we considered the possibility of having to put her down. By the grace of god, she found the stability and strength to walk with us again. We’re are extremely grateful for the additional time we had with her.

I could tell over the last few weeks that she was getting tired and weak and sensed that her time with us was short.

Her love for us was so deep that she tried to protect us from pain by quietly passing in the night on a day when my wife was going to be away with our new grandson and I was on the road.

Although our hearts still skip a beat when we think about her, we will try to stay focused on the love and companionship our sweet little dog gave us. RIP our sweet Peanut.. we will see you on the other side of the rainbow bridge 😪❤️
