On January 20, 2010 Roxi mysteriously appeared on the door steps of the Huff family. Roxi immediately chose Janice to be her mommy and Janice lovingly accepted the role. Roxi and Janice became inseparable from that moment and only spent short and necessary times apart. Although Roxi was Janice’s pet she was embraced and loved as a member of the family by all. Roxi had a special bond with Chris and spent a considerable amount of time with him as her co-owner. Roxi was one of a kind, with a fun loving personality, she was affectionate and obedient and always displayed a calm and mild temperament, she was the perfect companion. Riding in the car, peaking out the window, going for walks and playing with her favorite toys are all activities Roxi enjoyed until later in life when she lost her sight, developed canine dementia and suffered from other ailments that limited her mobility. During her latter years Roxi was resilient and continued to find enjoyable moments with Janice, such as getting belly rubs and spending sunny afternoons in the back yard. On Friday May 14, 2021 Roxi passed peacefully in her sleep, at their home in Pineville NC. She was loved by many and will be missed by her special friends, Randy Taylor and Nick Corry, as well as her other favorite girl, Nicole Lewis (Albert, Zamar, Marcus), who nicknamed her “fat mama” and cared for her when Janice was away, also a host of other cousins, aunties, uncles and friends will miss her dearly.
