Obituary For Toby Witt

Toby was adopted at eight months, a stray found in Laurens county SC. All he wanted was a home. We met at a time when we both needed someone. He was the most loyal, and loving pet. So very faithful, he was a herding dog, I had his DNA done when he kept circling me in the back yard. I trained him and we would go around the neighborhood and the children would ask me if Toby knew any more tricks. Of course, I smiled and showed him what he could do. He loved to retrieve, roll over, shake hands, play tetherball and was an expert at his 'doggie' puzzles. Our house is empty, Mommy is so devasted. I can never get another dog - you were one-of-a kind. I still look for you in your favorite places and the yard. You loved your frosty paws ice cream too! I brought you home yesterday and put your ashes in our bedroom so you will always be close. I have a lot of people praying for me, but it is the hardest thing I had to do. Father Time caught up with you and I didn't want you to suffer. Please forgive me. I love you so much Toby!

    To Toby: From Mommy: Two weeks today you left me and my heart was torn out of my body. It hasn't gotten any better for me. There is not a minute goes by that I don't think of you. I can't part with your things, I am boxing them up and putting in the attic. I know I will never get another dog, but your things had meaning to me. Please forgive me for what I had to do. I love you more than anything! Mommy

You don't know me but I do subscribe to the obituaries here to see the stories people share about their pets who have crossed over Rainbow Bridge (https://www.rainbowsbridge.com/Poem.htm). So sorry for your loss of Toby. Thank you so much for sharing some of his story. I can see he meant the world to you and had a tremendous impact on your life. And what a handsome boy 😊. Please reconsider a future rescue. YOu obviously have a lot to give and there a lot of good dogs who need furever homes.Our pets bring so much unconditional love and joy to our lives. They truly are family members who we create and share memories with. Keep those with you and he will live on in your heart forever. RIP Toby.
