Obituary For Trixie Rose Puggleface Eichinger

On Saturday, July 26, 2008 our sweet little Trixie arrived into this world. Our paths would not cross for several more years until her owner Liz noticed a loud barking of her biological clock on May, 10, 2013. After chatting with her roommate (Auntie Kristen), Liz fired up Petfinder and started a search for puggles, a breed whose soft floppy ears, sort of squishy faces, and curly tails had captivated her for years. Liz saw a profile for Trixie, who had a single picture of a smiley pup and a bio indicating she was good-natured and that she and her brother were surrendered by their owner, and Liz immediately submitted an application. After a couple of months of the rescue working to correct some health issues, Liz finally drove to pick up Trixie; on July 20, 2013; they sized each other up, assessing what to make of this new forever situation, and within 20 minutes of the drive home, Trixie was sitting in Liz's lap for the duration of the ride- which was slightly scary since she was not quite lap dog size!

Trixie seemed to adjust immediately and she and Liz had great times getting to know one another: attending dog-friendly events, dining on patios, and doing grad school homework. In 2015, Liz and Trixie made their way up to Atlanta and continued on their adventures together in their new home. During this time, Trixie had evaluated and rejected many suitors as potential dog dads and in early 2018, Liz brought home a nice fellow named Paul for Trixie's scrutiny- he passed! In 2019, Trixie, Liz, and Paul moved into a new place to start their lives together; a couple of months later, Trixie gave her blessings for an engagement and agreed to star in their engagement photoshoot if she was generously compensated with treats.

Like most people, the pandemic changed Trixie's life in that Liz and Paul were now home 24/7. She had great joy in watching Paul cook daily, sunning herself on the couch, and enjoying mid-day naptime, where she always gave a single kiss on the nose before retreating to her spot on the bed. We got in so much quality time together and Trixie had fun on road trips to Rock City, Asheville, and Savannah.

Her passing came suddenly and hopefully painlessly but we are so grateful for all the love and laughs she gave us in the 8 years that we had the joy of her being in our lives. She leaves behind a multitude of family, friends, and dog pals because she never met a stranger and was truly the goodest girl and will be missed so much.
