Obituary For Bugzee Bongiorni

We rescued Bugzee as a scared one year old kept in a crate 24/7 except when let out to breed in a puppy mill in poor conditions. My girlfriend and I drove 3 hours to Alabama to meet this little guy and we had no idea he was not good with people. My girlfriend thought he would be a difficult dog and did not want me to take him. Well, that wasn't happening. When I arrived home to let him in the house he ran around in circles because he had always been in a 3x3 crate. I had three other small dogs very curious and all wanted to sniff and play with him.

I won't lie, Bugzee (as we named him because of his big eyes), was a challenge and tended to nip at family and friends. Over the years Bugzee had issues with arthritis and needed medications. We have rescued many Shihtzus and know the health risks they may have. I would do it all over again if it would give him another 14 years.

Our fur babies bring us so much joy and so much love, but don't live long enough. I miss him every day and every night when I don't hear him snoring. He's free from his pain and now running free. I will see him again one day.

Hi there. You don't know me but I do subscribe to the obituaries here to see the stories people share about their pets who have crossed over Rainbow Bridge (https://www.rainbowsbridge.com/Poem.htm). So sorry for your loss of Bugzee. Thank you so much for sharing some of his story. Thank you also for taking him in despite his challenges and giving him his best life! I can see he had a tremendous impact on your life. And what an awesome face 😊. Our pets bring so much unconditional love and joy to our lives. They truly are family members who we create and share memories with. Keep those with you and he will live on in your heart forever. RIP Bugzee.
