Obituary For Happi Atkins

Happi Atkins was born on August 4, 2005. Happi was a very smart dog with human characteristics. From day one she trained us in letting us know when she needed to use the bathroom, by automatically going to the door and circling around until we let her outside. She loved being outside and she was a fast runner. She never missed out on an opportunity to out run you. She always came back and we never had to call for her. She loved to travel and would get excited to see her traveling dog carrier out. She knew that meant she was going somewhere on an airplane and she always behaved like a first class passenger on these flights. She also enjoyed car rides and would jump in the car anytime the door was open. She’d jump in and stare at me if I was taking too long to get in the car. Happi was picky and didn’t like everyone touching her, but she loved her family and she loved whoever her family loved. She was one of a kind, she didn’t think she was a dog. Happi mimicked human behavior, from watching tv to enjoying a nice bath and a nice steak meal. She wouldn’t go outside without her raincoat if she saw it was raining and she always seemed to know when I wasn’t feeling well, because those were the times she would snuggle up extra close to me. She loved to snuggle up and would push you out of her way if it interfered with her getting into a comfortable position. Happi will truly be missed, there isn’t a person that she met that didn’t continue to always ask about her. She left a loving lasting impression on all of us who knew and loved her. We are grateful for the almost 17 years she spent with us and she will never be replaced. We love you through all lifetimes Happi.

    Happy earth day Happi! Missing you everyday, it hasn't gotten any easier. I hope you're running around in a big field of soft grass with sunshine and after you tire from that, I hope there is a bowl of water for you and a big cupcake with lots of whip cream for you!! I love you eternally. Mom

    Aaaw, such a cute little face. I can tell you were special and different (in a good way), and I believe we could have been friends. I can honestly say "I'm sorry I didn't get to meet you"; but learning of you....has softened my heart. If there's a doggie heaven then I hope you're there. ☮️😌
