Maximus “Max” Demmer died on Sunday, October 2, 2022.
Max rescued us from the Dekalb County Shelter on December 5, 2014. He fell in love with Bear immediately and the rest of us soon after.
Max had a very special way of communicating and throwing tantrums that would just have anyone who witnessed his behavior laughing. He was always so full of love. He loved hard and slept hard. His snores were ridiculously loud and yet adorable. He was adorable. Very easy going and well mannered. He never scratched or bit anyone. Well, perhaps a few accidental nips while trying to gobble food out of your hands.
Even as he struggled with several illnesses in his last days, he continued to love unconditionally. We are glad he is no longer in pain and resting in peace. He will forever be loved and missed.
Funeral will be held at Paws, Whiskers & Wags at 10am 5 October 2022.

So sorry for your loss. I just had to put my sweet bella down 2 weeks ago. Saw his picture scrolling through and love him already! He seems like such a happy goofball like most pits are. Prayers for comfort and peace to you and family.

Max was pure love manifested in the body of a puppy. He was cuddly and sweet. You could embrace him and he would not complain or growl. You just had to love him. We all will miss this hunk of love but especially for his immediate family the loss must feel unbearable. Our hearts and all our love go out to Marcus, Ty and Chris. You guys gave him a loving home, healed his physical and mental wounds and he repaid all your caring with unconditional love. I am glad I got to meet him. Max will stay forever in our hearts!
